Clients of Clintonville Animal hospital & Doctor Devon Horne need to know she has the capacity & drive within her to be dishonest & hurtful, but frame it as coincidence, or gaslight them with excuses.
To be clear, obviously Doctor Horne is not supposed to behave this way. That she would present herself as a medical professional outwardly, but also be capable of, & comfortable with, lying to clients & hurting animals, reveals some very troubling practices & sinister behavior.
Doctor Horne is completely void of scruples, & has demonstrated that repeatedly.
I have never had an adversarial scenario with a veterinary clinic. The thought of it seems ludicrous.
What began as a complaint about the front desk & issues of incompetence has spiraled into something that is evidence of something far worse. The initial issue only being a symptom of a much bigger problem.
The most recent thing being that she directed her office manager to lie about if they had the prescription only food that my cat requires for its blockage issue. They'd just tried to sell me three cases.
I wrote the above as an addendum to my initial google review below.

Devon Horne, at Clintonville Animal Hospital sadistically, unethically, & inhumanely cut off treatment to my cat with chronic urinary blockage. It was done without any notice, when I contacted them about another issue. Any sudden interruption to his medications always causes intense results, & she knew this. She told me she knew this.
Weeks previous, due to continual mistakes on the part of the staff of Clintonville Animal Hospital, I criticized the vet front desk as 'inept'. I did this without using profanity or insulting language. I did this for repeated issues on forgetfulness & communicating by the front desk.
These issues were causing health complications for my cat that were completely unnecessary & extremely expensive.
What I was not planning on, weeks later, was the doctor inexplicably & passive aggressively refusing to help my cat further because I criticized them. In fact, my criticizing them had actually already been discussed & was a settled issue.
I expected that sort of behavior to be beneath medical professionals.
The doctor said she 'sent a letter' to inform me of my cat's expulsion from the clinic, and copies of his prescriptions. It hasn't arrived.
My mind is racing. What is my cat going to do without its proper medications and food as I wait for this letter to show up? Why is nothing being done to address the problems that I was having?
I tried to discuss a solution with her that would not hurt my cat. She was not having it.
The delight in the doctor's tone of voice was unmistakable as she heard the sadness in mine. Her hearing in my voice that I knew my cat was going to be well and truly medically affected was unmistakable. The shift in her tone of voice from professionalism to muted aggression.
At one point, as I was trying to reason with her about how bad this was going to be for my cat's situation, she simply put the phone down and stopped listening. I called out 'hello', and the phone was promptly hung up. When I called back, I was told that suddenly and coincidentally, the entire phone network for the building had gone offline.
I realized then, that in her mind, she had taught me a lesson by potentially hurting my cat. She beat me. I was her opponent, not a client who was paying her thousands of dollars. No concern at all about the cat that I had paid thousands of dollars to their clinic to treat. She would crush me by neglecting my cat. It was settled.
I thought they actually cared about him.
And the lesson I was taught?
Don't provoke this veterinary clinic by criticizing them for repeated mistakes. They have no interest in improving anything in their office and they will straight up, take it out on your pet medically.
Having this realization about the character of my pets' doctors is unnerving. It's weird and traumatizing.
How could one possibly know that they are bringing their cat to a vet that would do something like this?
Google reviews, I guess
I love this practice and highly recommend to my friends and family. Even my cat doesn’t mind going! The staff are friendly, compassionate, and happily answer any questions I have. They have also been supportive and helpful when faced with the more difficult decisions that come with being a pet owner and trying to figure out what is in the animals best interest. I have been to quite a few different practices over the years and I greatly prefer and appreciate the smaller, family style practice. They also have been quick to fit in urgent visits and even called me to check in the next day to make sure my cat was doing better before the weekend!
